How They'll Use the Grant:

Nobel Charter Middle School and Math/Science/Technology Magnet would use the grant money to purchase 120 Chromebooks and carts to store them in to increase student access to technology. Our goal is to have a device available for all students to ensure that all students leave Nobel with strong technology skills. Chromebooks will be utilized in the classroom as an instructional tool and to increase student collaboration as students utilize the tools in the google suite and google classroom to work together around research, problem-based learning projects, and the writing process. Our teachers would be able to give feedback in real time as students use google docs and google slides to engage in the writing process or create presentations. Furthermore, students will be able to engage in research in the regular classroom setting as they access databases such as those provided by Cengage and informational text provided by publications such as the New York Times. At present, Nobel has fourteen iPad carts, four laptop carts, and one computer lab for a school population of just under 2500 students. 120 Chromebooks would give three additional classrooms access to computer technology.
